U12s Play In Elite Tournament

On Saturday 9th July 2016 our Leicester Warriors U12 team were invited to the U12 Boys/Mixed National Invitational Tournament at the Leeds Carnegie Sports Centre Arena.
The event was hosted by Leeds Force and brought together the elite youth development programmes from across England, with the Leicester Warriors being the only team selected from Leicester.
The teams were split into 4 pools:
Pool 1 – Leeds Force 1, Manchester Giants U11’s, Derby Arrows, Leicester Warriors, West Herts Warriors
Pool 2 – York Eagles, Manchester Magic White, Richmond, Liverpool, Bucks Comets
Pool 3 – Sheffield Sharks, Manchester Magic Red, Lancashire Spinners, Solent Kesterals, Brentwood Fire
Pool 4 – Leeds Force 2, Manchester Giants U12’s, Stockport Falcons, Coventry
The team won 2 lost 2 and although did not qualify for the final rounds had great fun, and parent Katie said “I have only been involved with the club for a few months, but it is just amazing what the adults give back to the kids. You have the coaches, the kit washers!, the drivers, tuck shop parents and so many more all helping as volunteers, trying to make a difference, its a community!”
A big thanks to Coach Tony, Coach Arbham and Brett Collins, who gave up their time on the weekend to make a difference for the kids. Also a big thanks to all the staff at Leeds Force who put on such an amazing event.
Remember we are always looking for players who want to play basketball. Just come on down to Evington Leisure Centre, LE5 6LP, every Saturday 10am – 12 midday and have fun. Cost is only £2 for the session.
