Spain Trip July 2017

In July 2017 a team of our U16s were selected to attend our Annual Trip to Spain. The 5 day trip was to Óbila Club de Baloncesto who play in the Spanish basketball league.

Alongside playing games comptetitive games against teams from Avila and the surrounding regions, and having intensive training sessions, the players enjoyed the many sites of the ‘Town of Stones and Saints’ including many Romanesque and Gothic churches, and the formidable medieval walls, and played the popular sport padel.

The team also had guided tours of the city and ate in popular Spanish restaurants.

Parent Jayne said “Thanks so much for a fab trip, my son loved it and it was fantastic opportunity.”

Parent Ade “My son had the best time ever, and hasnt stopped talking about it. I was hoping a few days with the older lads and coaches would get him back on track and it certainly has”.

A special thanks to Coach Arbham Giga who took time out to assist with the trip.

This is not the first time the club has treated the players to Spain, and it has now become a regular off-season tour for our youngster to experience different cultures, enjoy basketball abroad and make international friends.
