Play Girls Basketball

Leicester Warriors has increased its provision of basketball as more Leicester and leicestershire girls are stepping onto basketball courts at Warriors than ever before. The Leicester Warriors in the offseason made a number of decisions to raise the profile and improve the
opportunities in the girl’s game.

Karl Brown said “We are offering girls ballers a great sporting environment. There is no pressure to perform and it is about fun and making friends.”

Reuben J Walker said “We have seen a massive increase in the interest in Girls Basketball here at Leicester Warriors. We started the programme 5-6 years ago and we now have teams competing in u12s, u14s, u16s and Leicestershire Local League Basketball.”

“Our Saturday session at Gateway College has shown a massive increase and we have now recruited a new girls Coach (Charlotte) who is bringing with her her Basketball England National League playing experience.”

What Parents Think

Parent Shanice said “My daughter is 10 and started at Gateway College after I saw a post on Instagram. She has made so many friends, and it is somewhere on a Saturday she is getting exercise. A few weeks ago she went to her first game in Birmingham playing against other clubs from the region and she was so made up!”
