Karl Brown – Lifelong Contribution to Sport Award

A big congratulations to Director of Basketball Karl Brown who was awarded the Lifelong Contribution to Sport and Physical Activity Award on Monday 15th January 2017.

The award was presented by Deputy City Mayor Councillor Piara Singh Clair MBE at a star studded event at City Hall, Charles Street, Leicester.

After finishing a training session with our U16s and u18s at Gateway College, Karl Brown, made the short journey across the city to be presented with his award, alongside staff from the Leicester Warriors (Arbham Giga, Reuben J Walker and Emily Clarke).

As ever Karl was very humble in receiving his award and emphasised the importance of grassroots sports:

‘…Grassroots is where it starts, the elite come from the grassroots, and it is about giving back….Sports is in my blood, sports saved my life, and that is why I give back.
I am born and raised in Leicester, Highfields, and where-ever I go I always champion Leicester…’
